It's the start (almost) of a new year and the start of some new beginnings. First I'll put last year to bed, though, with pics of my last creations of 2012. These are the pieces I made (last minute!) for special gifts for Christmas. I made the beads specifically for the gift but didn't design the necklace till last minute.
Now onto new beginnings! I've been busy recording last year's inventory, sales, and ALL of my new supplies. Then I priced and sorted my supplies and now I'm all ready and excited to start creating!
I've also given up my storage space and have been moving a lot of stuff back home, so that is another job to deal with in the next while: purging. It is not the easiest and definitely NOT my favourite. Oh well, I look forward to the day when it is finished.
On a much more pleasant note, I have so many other upcoming things I'm working on! I've managed to get a couple of my applications in already (early for once, yay!) and I am working on a really exciting show idea for JewelleryWon. I've been to a workshop on pricing your creations for sale and one on selling on-line. I'm also registered for a webinar this week on social media marketing. I am also pleased to now be a member of
Handmade Saskatchewan and the
Saskatchewan Craft Council.
On the colour creative side, I am back at lampwork again in a sculptural class this time. So far we've made frogs, eyes, nude statuettes and flowers. I will be doing Beads of Courage this weekend. Any suggestions for what to create?
Here are my January beads:
